THE ESSAY

SIGNATURE ESSAY (Summer)

문학으로 배우는 EVIDENCE-BASED WRITING

Over seven weeks, students read four authors and write twenty analytical essays. They learn our 14-sentence Master Paragraph (글쓰기 공식), a systematic method for selecting evidence, building arguments, and creating logical flow. What makes this work is not variety but repetition: the texts change, but the structure stays the same. Writing is a craft, and craft is built through drill. By the twentieth essay, students are no longer thinking about what to do next. The structure has become invisible, which means it has become theirs.

For rising 8th–10th graders. 8 students/class.

ADVANCED ESSAY (Fall)

비유를 분석하며 연마하는 EVIDENCE-BASED WRITING

Fahrenheit 451 is rich with symbolism, metaphor, and figurative language. Students who have mastered structure now learn to elevate expression. By analyzing how Bradbury uses imagery to convey meaning, students begin to bring that same sophistication to their own writing.

Fall 12 Sessions. For students who completed SIGNATURE.

ADVANCED ESSAY (Winter)

사회로 시야를 넓히는 EVIDENCE-BASED WRITING

Students who have mastered structure and expression now read The Great Gatsby for social criticism. What does the green light reveal about aspiration? What does the Valley of Ashes say about class? Students learn to see how a novel argues about society, and to make those arguments in their own writing.

Winter 8 Sessions. For students who completed SIGNATURE.

AP LANGUAGE & AP LITERATURE

패턴학습 중심의 FRQ 완벽 대비

The students who score well on AP Lang and AP Lit share something in common: the moment they see a prompt, they know exactly what it's asking for. They see patterns, and pattern recogniction can be trained.

Instead of simply asking the students to take full mock exams and go through them after the timed test, we drill the students on the patterns that repeat across exams. We teach students how to recognize what each prompt type is really asking, how to read the passage with that question in mind, and how to structure the response so the argument builds itself.

By test day, students see the prompt and the structure is already there.
